Please join us from the comfort of your own home as we join in conversation with Dawn Walker and Geoffrey Plant – two wonderful speakers – as they share their experiences with us and help deepen our understanding of this “ageing business” (!)
Dawn, a graduate of Melbourne University Conservatorium, was the Director of Music at Balwyn High School in Melbourne where she taught for 25 years prior to retirement. She then heard about U3- The University of the Third Age – which offered “opportunities for life-time learning… providing seniors opportunities to learn, teach and lend support to fellow members in a friendly environment regardless of ethnicity, religion or ability”. She was hooked!
Geoffrey is a priest of the Archdiocese of Sydney. During his fifty-two years of priesthood Geoffrey has been parish priest of several Sydney parishes. Over two years ago he retired to “lesser duties” which means, Geoffrey says, he no longer worries about leaking church roofs, parish finances, occupational health and safety issues, and grumpy parishioners! He continues to upload his Sunday homilies to his YouTube channel.
