Jasmin L’Green:  Jasmin is a proud Kuungkari woman originally from Worimi Country in Gloucester.   Jasmin graduated a Bachelor of Development Studies and Law in 2022 from the University of Newcastle and is now living and working on Gadigal Country in Sydney as a graduate lawyer.   Jasmin is passionate about the Uluru Statement from the Heart, raising the age of criminal responsibility across all states and territories and decolonising the legal curricula across universities as well as primary and secondary curricula’s in high schools.

Jasmin sits on the Ma & Morley Scholarship Program Advisory Committee as the Ambassador Representative and will complete her two-year term at the end of 2024.  Jasmin is also a colleague of Maryanne Pidcock who is  the Ma & Morley Scholarship Program Coordinator – see below for description of this program

David Newham.  Maryanne’s description of David:

David has assisted the Ma & Morley Scholarship Program over a number of years in connecting our Scholars to country, sharing Aboriginal lore and teaching cultural capability with Ngemba elder Uncle Paul Gordon. Dave works at the University of Newcastle as a Reconciliation and Development Consultant for the Institute of Regional Futures and organises a number of different dance groups, one of which recently performed at the Rising from the Embers festival. He also came on our immersion out to western NSW in 2022 and taught us dance on the trip. Dave has a long connection to the University of Newcastle, starting as a student with a Diploma in Aboriginal Studies, then a Bachelor of Social Science, has just finished his Masters and is keen to undertake a PhD.

 Description of the Ma & Morley Scholarship Program

Mission of the program: To work toward a world with bluer skies, cleaner water, healthier communities and more open thinking. It focuses on education, environment, public health and people development, with a view to fostering an innovative and sustainable model for a better world.
