Ken was born in Waverley NSW and grew up in Bondi Junction. He joined the Franciscan Friars, and after initial formation was a friar brother, teaching in Brisbane 1975 to 1990. Thence completed more studies in Chicago, Sydney and Ottawa in Theology and Canon Law. He was ordained a friar priest in 1997 – 31 years to the day from when he walked into the novitiate.
As a friar priest he has been working in parishes in Townsville, Melbourne, Auckland and now Thirroul. He has been a Vocation Director for the friars of Australia and New Zealand.
He is a judge in the Tribunal of the Catholic Church in NSW and in the Pacific, and has been Episcopal Vicar for Canonical Services for the Diocese of Wollongong.
He joined Bronte Surf Lifesaving Club in 1970 and is still a member. He is a Training Officer and Assessor, and was district supervisor in the Waverley area. He is also a member of Thirroul Surf Lifesaving Club and patrols regularly. He began umpiring AFL in 1970 and is a life member of the Queensland Umpires Association. He is still umpiring here in the South Coast AFL League.
