Kathleen McCormack, is the founding director of CatholicCare in Wollongong and the Director of Welfare in the Diocese for 29 years. In 2014 Kathleen was awarded a Papal Honour as a Dame in the ‘Order of St Gregory the Great’. From 2014-2017 served as an Australian representative to the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors, advising Pope Francis on safeguarding children from sexual abuse tragedy. In April 2018 was appointed a member of the ‘Implementation Advisory Group’. A group which will monitor responses to the clerical sex abuse scandal.
