Emeritus Professor Des Cahill OAM FACE PhD
Des is a former priest and now an emeritus professor of intercultural studies at RMIT University. He was a senior consultant to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. He is a much-loved father and grandfather as well as being very active in areas such as Religions for Peace Australia/Asia/International. His extensive CV speaks of a passionate, commitment to the Church and to an intercultural Australia and world.
Maria Minto Cahill: “I am a woman of faith. I am an educator, parishioner, member of the St Vincent de Paul Society (past State Vice President), chairperson of our parish pastoral council, mother and grandmother.
Congratulations to Des and Maria who this year celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
Come along by yourself or with a group of friends!
Be open to having your thoughts expanded or challenged by the evening of conversation, which begins with our speakers, followed by conversation around tables and then by open forum across the room. The room opens off the Bistro area.

Club Italia is between the Western Ring Road and Sunshine Hospital.
Come along by yourself or with a group of friends and catch up with old friends or make new ones. It will be an evening of live conversation, started by our speakers.
There will be an opportunity for you to share your story, insights or learnings in small groups or in plenary session if you so choose.
Support the club that supports Western SIP by dining there beforehand from 6.00 p.m. Dine on a table with other Western SIP participants. Early arrival allows time to order and enjoy your meal before moving into the room we use which is off the Bistro area.
