The Philosophy of God (Natural Theology)

Most of us grew up with the God of revealed religion. A pertinent question is: what God can you meet using human reason alone? Many people today are not interested in organised religion, which makes the philosophical study of the Supreme Being very relevant indeed for the times in which we live.

This course will look at the many ways famous thinkers have attempted to explore the mystery of existence – philosophers such as Rene Descartes, Nicolas Malebranche, Thomas Aquinas, Nicolas of Cusa, William James, Simone Weil, Henri Bergson and Edith Stein.

Hand-outs will provide background information, and there will be time for questions and comments.
