Q & A in the Crypt – Bishop Michael Morrissey

(These words were spoken by Pope Francis in 2017 to newly appointed Bishops, including Bishop Michael Morrissey).

Bishop Michael Morrissey is the ninth Bishop of Geraldton in Western Australia and is the first Bishop of Geraldton who was born, raised, ordained and ministered in the Diocese. He grew up on a station in Yalgoo, located over 200kms northeast of Geraldton. He received his primary education via Correspondence and School of the Air Lessons supervised by his mother, Margaret Morrissey. His secondary education was as a boarder at Aquinas College in Perth. Bishop Morrissey was ordained to the Priesthood on 31 January 1981 and ordained as Bishop of Geraldton on 28th June 2017.
