Adventures of a Vatican Astronomer

Brother Guy Consolmagno SJ is the President of the Vatican Observatory, one of the oldest astronomical research institutions in the World. Having studied planetary sciences at MIT and the University of Arizona, Br Guy worked as a researcher at Harvard and MIT, served in the US Peace Corps in Kenya and taught physics at Lafayette College before entering the Jesuits in 1989. Since 1993, he has worked as an astronomer at the Vatican Observatory and was appointed President of the Vatican Observatory Foundation in 2014. Br Guy has written many books, the latest title being Would you Baptise an Extraterrestrial?

There is a parking lot in front of the hall and more parking on the street. Enter via Mary St.

It is a 10 to 15 minute walk from Hunters Hill bus stops and shops. Proceed via Gladesville Road.

Before or after daytime events, you may wish to take extra time to enjoy the beautiful Marist grounds. Holy Name of Mary Church is usually open.
