William will discuss walking in the Christian tradition, including Jesus on walking, the Apostle Paul and walking, the Church fathers and walking and examine ‘walking’ as a metaphor for the Christian faith in the Scriptures. He will then focus on the many benefits of walking for physical, mental and spiritual health. Finally, he will conclude with a series of simple, practical ‘awe and wonder’ exercises that can be tried when walking to help us pray and encounter God.
