Reflection Morning – Lawson

August 16, 2025 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Br. Barry Donaghue cfc

Topic:   “Listening to the Edges of Each Other”

We bring a whole range of persons to our interactions with each other; we could be joyful or sad, interested or bored, peaceful or violent and so on.
“To not cultivate the feel of another is a kind of soul-murder.  The evolution of the human race depends on not aborting the feeling of another. We are in and part of an emotional storm. It is us and we are it – partly.  It is enough to begin with a sense that an emotional storm is happening.  The simple fact: Impact is happening”,
and we need to be in a space where we can deal with it.

Br. Barry Donaghue cfc has studied and taught in Australia, Africa, North America, Asia & the Pacific Islands.   He has completed primary degrees in arts and teaching, and graduate studies in education, adult religious education, theology and group dynamics, and holds a doctor of ministry degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary in the
spiritual formation of people in the groups in which they live and work.   He is the emeritus executive director of Spirituality Centres in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and in Terre Haute, Indiana. He is also a certified spiritual director and a
labyrinth presenter.
