Peter Julius: An educator and former sports administrator, Peter was born and raised in Cape Town, where for many years he was an aid worker in gang-infested areas. With vast experience as a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul, Peter is presently involved with many activities in his parish of St Patrick’s East Gosford.
Linda Brown: Following a varied career in Insurance, bookkeeping, with a medical specialist and as a funeral director, Linda is now a volunteer Chaplain with her local bridge club, the Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy Network and St. John Ambulance. She enjoys kayaking, movies, music, travelling and spending time with her seven grandchildren.
Rev Greg Colby: Overcoming traumatic experiences of his past life to make him a stronger person, Greg determined to care for others in need. The path he is now following saved him from a painful life of toxicity, trauma and shame. His spirituality and gardening experiences continue to provide a stable platform from which to help others.
Mardi Bell: Mardi is the Individual Support Worker for the Family & Carer Mental Health Program offered on the Central Coast by Parramatta Mission and funded by NSW Health. As an ISW she offers emotional support, information and advocacy for Mental Health Carers. She has taught yoga and practises Buddhism.
November 12 – Two Buddhist Monks:
Gen Kelsan Dawa: The resident teacher of Khedrubj Kadampa Buddhist Centre, and practising for 18 years, Gen Dawa is known for his kindness and humility. Gen Dawa explains how to integrate ancient Buddhist wisdom into busy, modern life.
Ross Markey: Raised as a Christian in the Church of England, in his 20’s Ross became more interested in Buddhism. Ross meditates regularly and attends weekly classes that study Buddhist literature. He is training to become a “Bodhisattva”, which means to have compassion for and to be a friend of all living beings.
